Ryan Seacrest starts this segment giving a shout-out to Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez's collaborator on On the Floor, who's in the audience.
Now it's time for Lee DeWyze and his new single, Beautiful Like You. And Lee looks lost, almost like he doesn't know the words to his own song. Eventually he remembers what he's doing and finishes the song, but he still struggles with the high notes. Still. Honestly, I think at least a half-dozen of this year's contestants could have done the song at least as well. I'll be stunned if Beautiful Likes You outperforms Sweet Serendipity at radio.
"It's great to be back," says Lee. Ryan asks what advice he has for this year's crew.
"Just remember why you tried out in the first place," he says. "You guys are fine, no matter what happens."
